Guidelines & Etiquette
Training at MNML. means respecting yourself, your partners, and the space. These guidelines keep everyone safe, healthy, and connected.
Hygiene
Always come clean and fresh. Shower before class, use deodorant, and keep nails short.
Train only in clean gear — gi, rashguard, or clothes must be washed after every class.
Cover and tape any cuts before stepping on the mats.
Don’t train if you’re sick or have a skin infection. Stay home, recover, and come back healthy.
Belts, uniforms, and gear must be washed regularly — nothing is “immune” to bacteria.
Bring sandals/flip-flops to wear off the mats. No bare feet outside the training area. Floor is lava.
Keep the space tidy. Use the changing rooms and respect shared facilities.
In Class
Arrive on time (10–15 minutes early if possible). If late, ask permission before joining.
No shoes on the mats. Never.
Be present: phones on silent, no side conversations while the coach is teaching.
Respect the flow of class: no skipping warm-ups, no leaving the mats without permission.
Focus on the techniques shown. Train with attention, not distraction.
Line up quickly and quietly when asked. Higher belts set the example.
Sparring / Rolling
Train with respect. Your partner is your teammate, not your enemy.
Always shake hands/fist bump before and after each round.
Prioritize control and technique over strength. Never crank submissions.
Be aware of space — lower belts make room if pairs roll too close.
Respect the tap. Stop immediately, and tap early if needed.
Don’t coach or “teach” your partner unless invited by the professor.
Work on your weaknesses. Rolling is for learning, not for proving a point.
Stay humble, win or lose. Training is play, growth, and community.
Cross-Training / Visitors
Arrive early, introduce yourself, and ask about house rules.
Treat MNML. as your own gym — keep it clean and respectful.
Follow the same etiquette for class and sparring as regular members.
Ask about mat fees if you’re visiting — always offer to contribute.
Roll with control. You’re here to share the mats, not to dominate them.
Membership Freeze & Community Policy
Freezing a Membership
We understand that injuries, health issues, or life circumstances can interrupt training.
That’s why every member is allowed to freeze their active membership once per year upon request.
Community & Conduct
At MNML., we build a space of discipline, respect, and equality.
Every member is treated with fairness — regardless of race, gender, or background.
We enforce a zero-tolerance policy for:
Discrimination of any kind
Sexual misconduct or harassment
Abuse inside or outside the gym
What This Means
If a member is accused of discriminatory behaviour or misconduct, they will be immediately suspended while an internal review is carried out.
If the accusation is confirmed by our investigation or external authorities, the member will be permanently removed from MNML. without refund.
Belts, ranks, and affiliations will also be revoked.
